Frequently asked questions
Short, honest answers about tracking your cycle with MyDays X — your data, your backups, ads & Pro, and how the little things work. Can’t find it? Write to us.
Two versions, kept honest. Most people are on the app that’s live in the stores today. A bigger update is on the way, and a few answers below note things that are Coming update — meaning not out yet. Everything marked In the app now works today.
Getting started
What is MyDays X?
MyDays X is a calm, private period & ovulation tracker — one small app, made and cared for by one person, and shaped by the women who use it (since 2008). You log your period and how you feel; the app learns your rhythm and gently predicts your next period and fertile window. There’s a longer introduction on the About MyDays X page.
Does it cost anything?
No — the full tracker is free. It’s supported by ads (see Ads, credits & Pro). If you’d rather have no ads at all, you can go Pro any time. The core things — logging, predictions, your history and backups — always stay free.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There’s no sign-up and no login. You just open the app and start — your cycle data lives on your phone, not on our servers. An email address is only ever needed if you choose to make a backup (that’s explained under Your data & backup).
Which phones does it run on?
iPhone / iPad and Android. You can get it from the App Store or Google Play — the links are on the MyDays X home page. It speaks many languages and lets you choose your units (kg / lb / stone, °C / °F).
How do I…
…enter my period?
Open the calendar, tap the day your period started, and mark it as a bleeding day; do the same for the following days until it ends. That’s all the app needs to start learning your cycle — the more periods you log over time, the better it gets to know you.
…understand the prediction?
From the periods you’ve logged, MyDays X estimates when your next period is likely to start and marks your predicted fertile window and ovulation day around it. It’s an estimate that improves the more you log — cycles naturally vary, so treat it as a helpful guide, not a guarantee.
Please note: MyDays X is not a contraceptive and does not give medical advice. For anything about your health, or if you’re relying on the fertile window to plan or avoid a pregnancy, talk with a doctor.
…log symptoms, mood & notes?
Tap the day and add what fits — flow, mood, energy, pain and other symptoms, plus your own free notes. Over weeks and months these build a picture of your patterns that’s yours to look back on (and useful to show a doctor).
…change the look / theme?
In the app’s settings you can switch the theme to change the calendar’s colours and mood — pick whichever feels like yours.
Coming update The next version adds a soft new “Flower Meadow” theme and lets you set your own photo as the calendar background (it stays on your device, never uploaded).
…set up reminders?
Turn on reminders in the app’s notification settings. Cycle reminders arrive a few days before a predicted period or fertile window, so nothing catches you off guard; you can also set a daily reminder (for example to take a pill) at a fixed time. Because period & ovulation reminders follow the prediction, they get more accurate as the app learns your cycle.
…keep the app private on a shared phone?
You can lock MyDays X behind a passcode in the app’s privacy/security settings, so your cycle stays for your eyes only even if someone else picks up your phone.
…track a pregnancy or menopause?
MyDays X has modes beyond the regular cycle — including pregnancy tracking and a menopause mode — that you can switch on when they fit where you are. If a period comes at an unexpected time, or after a loss, there’s a gentle little guide here too: Being gentle with yourself.
Is there partner sharing or a supplement / HRT log? Coming update
Coming update These are on the way in the next version, not out yet: a read-only partner mode to share a calm view of your cycle with someone you trust, and a supplement, HRT & treatment log so you can see what changed and share it with your doctor. We’ll update this page when they land.
Your data & backup
Where is my data stored? In the app now
On your phone — and only there. Your cycle history is not kept on our servers. Nothing about your cycle leaves your device unless you deliberately turn on a backup (below). No account, no selling of data.
How do I back up my data?
In the app’s backup section you create a backup tied to your own email address and a Backup ID (a private key phrase). Your backup is encrypted. Write your email and Backup ID down and keep them somewhere safe — together they’re the only key to restoring your history later.
How do I restore on a new phone?
Install MyDays X, go to the restore option, and enter the same email address and Backup ID you used when backing up. Your history is pulled back onto the new phone. Restores add your saved days back — they won’t wipe anything you’ve already logged.
I’ve lost my Backup ID.
A backup is matched by both your email address and your Backup ID, so you need both to restore — that’s also what keeps your data private (we can’t read it). If you’ve lost your Backup ID, contact us with the email address you used and we’ll do our best to help you find your backup record. The surest fix is to store the ID safely the next time you back up.
How do I delete everything?
There’s an “erase all my data” option in the app’s settings that removes your data from the device for good. You can also ask us directly through the contact form. For the full picture of what we do and don’t hold, see the Privacy Policy.
Ads, credits & Pro
Why are there ads?
MyDays X is free, and the ads are what keep it that way — they pay for the app so the full tracker can stay free for everyone, with no account and no selling of your data.
What is Pro?
Pro removes ads — that’s the deal: the same app, no ads, ever. The tracking itself is already free without Pro; Pro is simply for people who’d rather not see ads and want to support a tiny independent app.
What are credits? Coming update
Coming update The next version adds a friendlier way to handle ads: watch a short ad when you choose to bank a credit, then spend credits later — for example to skip an ad. Core health features are never locked behind credits. This isn’t live yet; we’ll note it here when it ships.
Coming from another app Coming update
Can I bring my history from Flo, Clue or another tracker?
Coming update Importing your history from other trackers is being built for the next version — it isn’t available yet. When it’s ready, this page will explain exactly how to export from your old app and bring your history across. In the meantime, once you install MyDays X you can start logging right away, and your history is safe on your device.
Privacy
The short version
Your cycle stays on your phone. There’s no account, we don’t sell your data, and a backup only ever happens if you set one up yourself. The full details — including how ads and consent work — are here:
